The seminar "Protecting the Brain: Dementia Prevention and Lifelong Cognitive Health"
was successfully held on 29 January 2026, hosted by the Faculty of Public Health, Thammasat University,
under the Reinventing University Project.
The seminar provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange on dementia prevention
and lifelong cognitive well-being in the context of ageing societies.
The seminar was formally opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health,
who warmly welcomed the distinguished speaker, Prof. Eef Hogervorst.
The event was attended by the Deputy Dean for Administration and International Affairs,
who also serves as the Principal Investigator (PI) of the Reinventing University Project,
together with faculty members and students who actively participated throughout the session.
Throughout the seminar, participants gained insights into current international situations related to dementia,
including disease causes, symptoms, and emerging trends in care and prevention.
Discussions highlighted evidence-based approaches to promoting brain health across the lifespan
and provided clear perspectives on the future direction of dementia care
and management in both clinical and community settings.
Participants actively engaged in discussions and collaborative thinking,
contributing ideas and designing potential activities and preventive approaches aimed at reducing dementia risk.
The seminar not only enhanced participants’ understanding of dementia
and cognitive health but also inspired further interest in research
and practical initiatives related to dementia prevention and ageing studies.
